Stef truly believes in partnering business with your faith. Without God leading your path, you’re not going to have success. Success to Stef is bringing glory to the kingdom.
First let’s define purpose and calling. They are two different things. If we look at scripture all of our purposes are to glorify the kingdom of God. When we look at the calling in scripture, Psalm 139:14 “Perfectly, fearfully, and wonderfully made”, we have these stories that God predestines.
You are the way you are because He created you just to be that way. You have walked through the hard things in life on purpose. All of those little pieces come together and create this little thing called your calling. You can do your calling work as a mission for fun, never get paid for it and just do it because it lights you up. It’s the thing that doesn’t feel like work.
God has created you to do this one thing and sometimes it has pieces of one thing, but it’s the thing that you do, that creates impact and can create income for His glory. But it brings you so much joy in the process.
This is how you begin to find your calling.
Step 1: The God Centered Clarity
When you first begin you have to commit your way to the Lord (Psalm 37:5) and then He will act. You have to surrender it to Him. You go through your identity through Christ and partner with God so you can go from called to chosen. The whole thing is to begin with going to God and asking Him what your purpose is. A prayerful exciting anticipation of active surrender. The important part here is be ready to receive. We are constantly trying to solve problems from a fleshly place instead of a spirit place.
When you receive an answer sometimes it can come much faster than we are ready for. Then you you go into this phase of “Are you sure? Is this really what you want me to do?”. You have to believe that He is going to lead you, this path is from Him and your going to have immense levels of faith and figure out a way to do it. You’ll feel so unqualified with whatever He speaks to you. You are unqualified. On our own everything is impossible but with Him it is possible. You’re going to have to take some scary steps. The action will bring you so much clarity. You can’t wait to receive clarity you have to start and chip away at clarity.
As you take action, you’re going to get this Holy Spirit feedback. You’re going to find clues and have revelation through the process and continuously pray for guidance.
Step 2: The Root of Who You Are
You go through so much in your life. You are born with these inherent skill sets, spiritual giftings, stengths and weaknesses. Then you go through life experiences, traumas, loss grief, etc. You have to take in all of those pieces in step two to find the common denominator of your passions through your trials. This will lead you to what you were called to do. Figure out your root statement of who you are and what you want to do.
Step 3: A Brand and Messaging Plan
This is where you shift and find how you can make this into a business. Your lifes work. This is possible for everyone. This is the five tier brand map. You have to know where you are going, this will help you take that root statement and break it down into super clear pieces. This is the house of your business. You have to have a title, a tag line (your root statement in a one breath sentence), avatar clarity (who are you called to serve), a description (a paragraph description of what you provide), and pillars (three solutions that will change your avatars life).
Step 4: Scalable Business Model
Now you have this five tier brand map. At this point you are looking at this triangle trying to figure out what to do. Now it’s time to build out your evergreen revenue making machine and it is a podcast. The truth is you can go on social and build your business, fight the algorithms, battle your way to death to get seen and heard. But that same hour you spent making that reel you could have created two podcast episodes that can truly change someones life, connect with them, create trust and can be found in the search engines simply by how you title your show. This podcast creates leads, it’s a long game.
Find what your person is struggling with and then create the course. Courses are 100% passive revenue. This will solve their number one problem.
What is your person actually searching for? When they go into Google or the podcast app, what are they typing in? If the title is not what someone is searching for you will not be found. What you would search for in a Google bar is completely different than your avatar. Don’t be afraid to ask them.
You need to pray. Holy Spirit is the greatest convictors of all convictors to tell you what is not right and what is not working in your life. So often we come from a fleshly place than a spiritual place trying to figure out if we are doing the right things. You have to pay attention to your anxieties and feelings.
There’s a difference between Holy Spirit sirene and being uncomfortable because you are growing. You will be uncomfortable, this is not easy. As you pursue your calling everything will come against you to make you stay small. Everything is going to come at you and make you want to stay where you are, that is different, you want to push forward. When you are pursuing your calling, your ceiling is not static. Your ceiling is this open opportunity, it’s a sky, there is no limit of what you can do or who you can become.
Clarity is everything when it comes to success. Stef’s definition of success is walking out her purposeful work, making am impact and income so that she can glrofiy the Kingdom of God. If she is not making an impact or income then she can not give in the ways that God needs her to give so that there can be true change here on this earth.
If you don’t have claity there are three things that will happen. You try to sell something random to make quick money, you throw spaghetti at the wall to see what sticks or you do nothing because you are so unsure of what to do. All three of these mistakes can be aleviated by having a root statement of your life so that you can begin to walk forward. There is no success without the work or the service.
Don’t put your eggs in someone else’s basket. There is always a way for you to create something out of your calling. Something that is yours, that you can own.
Do everything in your business as authentically as possible, don’t look up and out at what other people are doing. Go to your heart. There is authenticity in your story and there is so much more growth and success in your imperfection then there is in a perceived perfection. Show up as you and go create something that is just yours.
