We are just a few days away from 2022 wrapping up. And what a year it’s been.
Today we’re doing a wrap-up on how 2022 went for The Heart University. As CEOs of this company, we learned a LOT this year, and we wanted to share the biggest nuggets and takeaways we learned with you today. This year was interesting in so many ways for us. We scaled back intentionally. We did a lot of things differently than we had in the past. Some of it worked. Some of it didn’t. And we cannot wait to dive into the recap to share it all with you today.
The word of 2022 was Nurture
Originally meant to nurture our people but also: nurture ourselves and our businesses.
Going into 2022 it was a rebuilding year. Restructuring and revising our strategies and business model.
Because of that, we made less money. That’s just the truth. But it was a pullback and refocus year and we knew it was a necessary year in order to build a sustainable business for years to come. We didn’t launch any new courses and focused on the backend and evergreen WAY more.
Just because you can create new products, doesn’t mean you should.
Moving Forward
The only way we’ve made a profit in past has been through brute force hustle and launch/launch/launch which isn’t sustainable long term – so we’re in the middle of learning how to grow strategically while getting smarter and scaling back the nonstop hustle we’ve done in the past.
We’re really identifying what are the ACTUAL things you need in your business to move the needle forward. Just because you CAN do all the things doesn’t mean you necessarily should.
Where is your time being spent and how is that bringing in money?
Are you HAPPY with how your business is growing? For example, for us we learned: more money doesn’t always mean a more successful or sustainable business.
So re-evaluate: what are the products or services in your business that are the most profitable and feel the most aligned and how can you lean into those?
Next lesson
We’re the bottleneck in our company. We’re still approving almost every single thing and it’s draining us and not quite setting our team up for success. Make sure we have KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for each team member and they’re given authority and autonomy to just DO their work without needing us to approve everything.
Overall takeaway
You’re ALWAYS learning as an entrepreneur. There’s always more growth to be attained as a CEO. You’ll never know it all. And the end of the year is a great time to look back and evaluate what you learned through the past 12 months – what did you learn? What did you do right? What can be improved on? What’s your vision for the next year?
Take advantage of this time of basically a worldwide fresh start and a new beginning to evaluate and learn!
