In today’s conversation with Lisa, we chatted about her new book that just came out: The Fight for Female. This woman is so gifted on this topic, that she went off on our culture’s war against women. This is one you are not going to miss! 

 

Lisa’s Story

Lisa Bevere is an internationally known speaker and New York Times best selling author. She cohosts the podcast Conversations with John & Lisa Bevere, is a frequent guest on At Home with the Beveres, and hosts The Fight for Female podcast. She cofounded Messenger International, which has given away more than sixty-five million resources and launched MessengerX, a discipleship app that reaches 238 countries in 129 languages. A cancer survivor and bold truth teller, Lisa has been married to her husband, John, for over forty years, and together they have four sons and eight grandchildren.

 

The world’s war on women

Many of us didn’t fit into these molds because God wants us to do a new thing. So many of us want to belong, but God is calling you to pioneer and start something. This is the inspiration for Lisa’s new book: The Fight for Female. Your identity cannot be anything taken away from you. Your identity has to be your core. The truth is if you pursue what to do but don’t know who you are, you are going to be lost. Because Jesus doesn’t change we can, we find out who we are in the presence of God. We cannot be a people controlled by the opinions of others. Women want to be loved, included, and successful. Proverbs 31 women has got everything but she is laughing at tomorrow. 

This is not a political problem. A cultural problem. This is a spiritual problem. 

If we cannot trust our creation with our formation, we will never trust Him with our formation. 

 

How to fight back

With constant courageous, kind, clear conversations. We need to start speaking to one another. Not arguing on social media– seeing our neighbors and not with people who agree with us.

How do you balance? Life is seasonal, women have about 15-20 years before they can have children. You can do everything but usually not at once. There is something that happens in a women when she becomes pregnant. You become something and someone. 

If you’re doing the right thing in the wrong season, it’s not the right thing. You need to know your season in life. Women are actually at the advantage this season. Women can network and are not just helpful to each other but a greater community. 

Sisters growing up are the most competitive, but sisters grown-up are the most strongest. 

We all have the same 24 hours in the day but we all have to choose how to use it. Are you going to redeem the time? Time that is not redeemed, is time that is stolen. 

 

How to know what God’s saying for YOU

You will never discover who you are or what to do by looking at what other people are doing. Generations are walking on the earth that are called to do something significant but don’t know what to do. Number one is because they are called to do something that has never been done before. 

Pause. 

Take a deep breath and know that God wants to talk to you and direct you more than you want to hear from Him. We’re so busy looking at what other people have that we miss the treasure, the seeds, the gifts that we have in us. God does bless our work. We have permission to flourish. 

God is looking for people who will be courageous enough to dream again. Because God fights nightmares with dreams. God fights famishes with flourishing. And God distinguishes people when the world is freaking out, God says if you seek me I know the plans I have for you. He will never tell you the plan, but He has a plan and the enemy has a scheme. Which one do you want to partner with? 

God did not create women as an afterthought, God created women because they were necessary.
