Today, we’re taking things a little bit in a different direction. The idea for this podcast came from our girl Katie Graham and we thought it was FUNNY. We’re about to bring to the table multiple areas of our friendship where we have VASTLY different opinions and discuss live on the show. We are very similar but then very very very different in certain aspects, so today we’re going to fight about it. More of a lighthearted, girl chat/friend episode. NOW LET’S DEBATE!!!
Lindsey: I love coffee. I can safely say that the majority of people love coffee.
Evie: When people hear that I hate coffee they think that I hate the flavor of the coffee.
Lindsey: A lot of people do, you learn to love it over time.
Evie: Wait, you sip on a black coffee and don’t enjoy it?
Lindsey: No I very much enjoy it but can recognize that people taste it and hate it cause it’s bitter.
Evie: Do you feel like you drink coffee and learn to like it because it is cool?
Lindsey: I don’t think it’s cool, but maybe it is cool, I genuinely love how it makes me feel and not the caffeine. I love a warm beverage in the morning. When you cut out coffee and aren’t used to caffeine a warm beverage in the morning will do the trick.
Evie: The reason I don’t like coffee is not necessarily the flavor, but I will say there have only been a couple of times in my life where I have sipped on a black coffee and thought wow this is good.
Lindsey: It can’t be Folgers, Folgers needs to die.
Evie: No it was a roastery in Northern California, I liked it once and tried it again and did not like it. The reason I hate coffee is it makes me feel ill. I don’t know if it’s the caffeine or something with the bean, because I can have other caffeinated beverages just fine.
Lindsey: I don’t say I would hate it, I just don’t understand the hype.
Evie: Anyone who knows me at all, knows that I am obsessed with Ann of Green Gables. All of my hard drives are named after Anne of Green Gable’s characters. My hard drives are Matthew, Marilla, Diana, Gilbert, Anne, and Minnie May.
Lindsey: I watched the movie and don’t remember any of those other characters than Gilbert and Anne.
Evie: I made Lindsey watch the two movies.
Lindsey: It wasn’t that it was bad, I can get on board with the little house on the prairie vibes, I am about that.
Evie: What were your problems with the movies?
Lindsey: It wasn’t that I had a problem, I loved the wholesomeness, the story, me being a parent I will let my kids watch that all day. My problem was that there is all this build-up for two movies and there was just a peck at the end. I understand that this is back in the day and we’re not going to make out, but give me something!
Evie: Think about how many movies end with the proposal and no wedding?
Lindsey: That’s fine, then give me the magical kiss!
Evie: It was a magical kiss, it was soo sweet.
Lindsey: It’s not like I’m a hater, I enjoyed the movie but it was slightly boring. If you’re going to hammer on the romance, give it to me at the end.
Evie: The point of the whole book is not the love story, it’s a piece of it but the point of the story is Anne.
Lindsey: We’re back to something that I love and Evie hates. Evie you have the floor, explain yourself, and don’t use the word overrated, it’s been done before.
Evie: I respect her in certain ways, I have compassion for her being in the spotlight for so many years and of course the pressures. I respect anyone who’s super famous and has constant opinions and pressure and paparazzi. However, I just have questions about some of the things she is a proponent of and the ideas she shares popularly with the world. I’m not a huge fan of some of her morals and beliefs. That is one tiny piece, the other thing for me is from a family of professional musicians. I have opinions about people who are obsessed with artists where I feel some of their musicianship is lacking. Somebody like Taylor Swift I think lyrically she has a magic touch, my issue comes with some of the melody, the musicality. Like what the heck was that Me song?
Lindsey: I 100% agree, that is one of the worst. Don’t talk to me about Taylor’s artistry and bring up Me, because that is absolute trash and that is coming from a Swifty.
Lindsey: I love spicy food, Evie hates it. When I say spicy food, for enjoyment for me, I mean sweating. If the food doesn’t give me pain physically I don’t want it.
Evie: The number of days and times where we’ve been eating food together, for breakfast we will make this amazing savory breakfast, and the next thing I know Lindsey has turned her plate red and black with piles of hot sauce and peppers. Will they sit there eating breakfast sniffing the whole time because her nose is running?
Lindsey: I think it might be a form of a drug potentially. It gives you an experience, but I do like my spice to have a good flavor.
Evie: With spicy, you can’t taste your food, your mouth is on fire. I would so much rather have the individual flavors. I feel like piling hot sauce on top of your food you’re not getting the variety of flavors.
Lindsey: I can see that but I don’t care, I need excitement and adventure in my mouth.
Evie: We don’t disagree we just handle it differently.
Lindsey: Between the two of us, Evie is much more gracious and loving. Not that I’m not, I am the one that is more likely to throw the middle finger. Maybe a heart issue for me, but my instinct is to get sassy.
Evie: You get sassy, I can get sassy but I tend to reserve that within my close inner circle.
Lindsey: Evie growing up wasn’t inundated with pop culture. As a parent, I respect your mom. I don’t regret my childhood, specifically the Disney channel tween.
Evie: I know nothing.
