Today we’re coming at ya earbuds with a lil’ Q&A episode. A little game of ask Evie and Lindsey anything. And today we have a bit of something for everyone!
Lizzie: How do you write a script outline for a podcast episode? Do you follow it completely or just hit the main points?
99% of our episodes are just bullet points for the general flow and points we want to hit on. Most of what you hear is us fleshing those out as we speak and it’s not uncommon for us to bring in a whole thought or idea that wasn’t on our notes at all.
We want to keep them as conversational as possible but we both also struggle with just rambling so we use the bullet points to keep us on track.
The intros are scripted, but that’s it.
Emily: Where to start with outsourcing – things to look out for when outsourcing things like bookkeeping, social media management, events ect.
When your time becomes more limited than your financial resources. AKA you’re absolutely maxed out in your available time and mental energy but you have the money in your business to be able to hire someone.
Start tracking your time and notice what’s taking the most amount of your time (or the things you’re avoiding most) and ask yourself: can I hire someone else to help me manage this?
It’s almost always scary to hire someone at first. We work hard for our money as a solo entrepreneurs and it can feel intimidating to let some of that hard-earned cash out the door for your first hire or two. If you’ve capped yourself out we promise, spending the cash to hire someone else will not only free up your time and energy but with the right person, it will lead to MORE revenue.
Monica: How many times should I follow up after I send a pricing guide? If they aren’t responding…
Twice: one follow-up email and then a magic email.
Natasha: What is the biggest thing each of you has learned from the other?
Evie to Lindsey: How little you care about other people’s opinions about you. You don’t think from the perspective of how this will be perceived, but you think from the perspective of being in alignment with your values. The freedom that you live in is contagious and other people get transformed in their life through the freedom that you live in.
Lindsey to Evie: The love you have for the Lord, is on freaking fire. You’re continual pursuit of the Lord and His heart and honoring Him in everything that you do. You hunger and seek after the Lord in everything that you do.
You do a good job of prioritizing life and not letting business overrun life.
Anna Grace: Do you think the long, blog style captions on IG are OUT? I feel like all the big creators have resorted back to short/simple captions?? Want to know your take?
The landscape of Instagram has definitely changed with Reels and more of a shorter form video Tik Tok landscape. There’s a time and place for long-form captions that tell a story and invite your followers into a deeper connection. To share a personal story or a vulnerable moment for you. But we don’t think we have to have every single caption have a super long caption like people used to do.
