Sure as the Sunrise
It was 2020 and it was groundhogs day, every day was a repeat. She was trying to run a company around planners when everyone’s plans suddenly got canceled. Emily started telling herself the things that she knew were true and for sure every morning. That was where Sure as a Sunrise came from. God you can count on, the way He is going to show up in your life you can count on.
Emily’s Morning Routine:
Emily has been doing this routine since she was thirteen. She wakes up around 6 and gets out of bed at 6:20 am she will go and let the dog out and make a cup of coffee and go and take a bath. Every single morning Emily loves her bath time.
Then she will get the kids out the door and if she has time get a workout in after and then she will start her day. It’s not complicated, it’s as simple as that.
Sticking with Routines
When you set it up for yourself you can’t borrow someone else’s. You have to think about the things that make you happy. When you think about the things that light you up you want to be those small habits.
It helps if you write it down. It can be a visual cue/reminder for you. It takes 21 days for a task to become a habit.
Struggling to be consistent with a new routine
Give yourself grace. If you are hitting the mark 80% of the time, that is still a win. But you also have to stop making excuses. Sometimes we need tough love so that we do stay consistent.
Word of the Year
It helps narrow your focus. If you don’t you might try to do too many things at one time and then nothing gets done. Choosing the word should be something that is really on your heart and makes you slightly uncomfortable. It’s a growth area, it’s God kind of nudging. It’s whatever is that gut feeling.
