Have you ever had a moment where you saw an opportunity and SO desperately wanted to reach for it but yet feel so intimidated, overwhelmed, or unsure of HOW to even go about pitching yourself for an opportunity?? Is your hand raised? Great, you’re in the RIGHT PLACE for today’s episode! Today we had the JOY of talking to one of our favorite humans on earth, Valentina Garcia. 

In today’s conversation, we invited Val to share her experience of pitching herself to our Heart Team for our 2022 Nashville Conference. Which led to her not only working with us during that week, but opened other doors for working with other entrepreneurs afterwards as well. We get Val’s insight into what was going through her head when she sent her pitch DM, we read through her DM and dissect what was so perfect about it (therefore giving you tips on how to craft your own pitch messages!) and we all break down the things Val did AFTER we agreed to work with her that led us to have jaws on the FLOOR throughout our entire experience with her.

 

Who’s Val!? 

Val is a marketing NERD based in Miami Florida with her husband and little one on the way, and the founder of Inovativ Media, a social media marketing agency.

 

What Val did leading up to our 2022 Nashville conference

Val discovered the H&H podcast through the Spotify algorithm, she played an episode and it was about how to value yourself and she was mind blown by the episode. She then started binging all the episodes and saw we announced our conference. Val came up with a plan on how to financially get there and not go into debt. We wondered if we had social media coverage and if maybe she could be part of the team. Val thought the worst they could say is no and decided to shoot her shot. 

VaI was fighting a lot of fear, since she had never attended any sort of conference ever (business or life). She then thought what if she could serve us to get into the room through social media which she knew how to do and was confident in? It’s only crazy until it happens, so why not take a step a faith and invest in yourself and business? 

 

What to do before shooting your shot

Val’s goal was that when she got to the conference she wanted to deliver social media coverage that had never been done before. Once we said yes she now knew she needed to over-deliver. How could she serve us so well that we want her to come back or that we sell out the next conference at an even bigger venue? 

Researching hot to best create content and flipping the content as quickly as possible so that the followers felt like they were there in real-time. 

 

Using the conference to connect and network 

The conference was what Val didn’t know she needed. Sitting there and hearing the speakers and hearing Evie and Lindsey pour into the VIP attendees, Val walked away with so much knowledge. She learned so much about business and instead of just living life to pursue business goals, but to also enjoy the fruit of her hard work. The community was mind-blowing in itself and being able to gain wisdom from so many other business owners. 

On the business side, she was able to connect with Paige and connect with other speakers to network. It was a divine connection and appointment from the DM to attend to even after that. 

 

Not letting fear get in the way of shooting your shot 

Stop letting your doubt paralyze your potential. Feel the fear and do it anyways. Send the DM. Send the email. If it is a God opportunity it will open up. If it’s a door it doesn’t mean a never. It just means a not yet.
