Welcome back to the show where we spill the tea, share our wins, losses, lessons learned, and overall just navigate this crazy world of entrepreneurship together. We’ve got some big and super important news to share with you today, so grab your favorite beverage, cozy up, and let’s have a heart-to-heart girl chat.
So here’s the deal. We’ve been doing some serious soul-searching, analyzing, and LOTS of praying and seeking the Lord behind the scenes of this company lately, and we’ve come to a big decision. A shift is coming to The Heart University, and trust us when we say it hasn’t been an easy one. We’ve been torn, and we’ve questioned ourselves a thousand times, but ultimately, we feel SO much peace and excitement and know it’s the Lord’s next step for us.
You already know we believe in transparency, authenticity, and keeping it raw, and that’s exactly what you can expect from this conversation. No sugar coating, no filters, just a genuine girl chat where we share the story of how we came to this decision and explain what this shift means for you, our amazing Heart family.
How we got to this decision
Evie has always felt her biggest desire/calling/dream is to be a wife and a mother and be fully present with her kids. That has always been top of mind with all her businesses. We always wanted to build our businesses to allow us all the financial and time freedom in the world.
Over the last 3 years, we have tried to slowly ease ourselves out of the business as it’s continued to grow and grow and grow which was super tricky, not gonna lie. We’d pull out of certain areas and it would start a forest fire that would cause us to come rushing back in with more stress & work than ever.
After 3 years of trying to take steps towards easing out of the day-to-day in The Heart, we kinda came to a come to Jesus moment this spring. While Lindsey was on maternity leave Evie was handling huge life changes, multiple launches, team member shifts, etc. And basically working more than full-time again while also continuing with her other companies. And then Lindsey’s maternity experience was the opposite but led to the same conclusion.
After a LOT of prayer and HOURS of conversation together we finally knew:
God was closing a door to “more” and shifting us back to an older version of The Heart.
What this looks like:
- One Photography workshop per year
- The shop stays open but no more multiple crazy new launches each year
- The podcast continues
That probably doesn’t look like much different to the outside perspective but trust us that’s a HUGE shift on our internal team and creates SO much time freedom.
