Your bio is your digital first impression on Instagram when someone comes to your account—it’s a concise space to showcase who you are, what you do, and how others can work with you. It’s the gateway to connecting with your audience, building your brand, and attracting potential clients or customers. But let’s be honest, finding the perfect combination of words to convey your essence and capture attention can be a freaking daunting task.

Close up/clear face of YOU! NOT the place for your logo. You want this to represent your brand/work/style really well since it’s often one of the first things people will see alongside the first piece of content. 

 

Name

This bolded name area is SEARCHABLE. Name, service, AND location! Exceptions to the above: if you can’t fit your name or your handle is your exact name, prioritize the niche and location!

Bio Body

This is not a dating profile. You don’t have to list the fact that you’re a Sagittarius, Starbucks lover, and Swiftie.

Your bio should cover these 4 things:

• Who you are
• What you do
• How you serve your people
• Call to action

Example:

Destination Elopement Photographer for the wild, romantic souls.

I help couples take the stress out of eloping + enjoy emotion-filled images of their adventure for generations to come.

You can create buttons that go directly to where you want.

• Example Gallery
• Link to a freebie for potential clients
