We’re going to talk about how to build an irresistible coaching offer from the beginning. A fun, short, and to-the-point snappy episode to help you build the perfect coaching offer in anything, not just business coaching!
JUST STARTING OUT:
Make sure you have skills or knowledge that people need or want. You don’t have to be the ultimate end-all-be-all be-all expert, you could be halfway up the ladder teaching someone not even on the first rung.
Start creating free content on socials, email lists, podcasts/YouTube, or whatever medium you want. People need to start seeing you as an expert in this topic before hiring you one-on-one for more. Start garnering intrigue for what you teach (do regular question-and-answer stories, Instagram lives, show expertise via content, and answer commonly asked questions (even if people aren’t asking).
Start with 60 to 90-minute Zoom calls/in-person if applicable. Start low price-wise if you’ve never coached before. Model your sessions as either Q&A form where your client can ask anything OR, model it as one very specific niche topic they deep dive into with you.
Ex: physical trainer: either general Q’s OR “how to make the most of dumbbell workouts from home”.
HOW TO HAVE A GOOD COACHING OFFER:
Questionnaire or application process before they book OR consult call. Make sure you’re the right person for them!!!
Have a detailed pricing guide. And contracts in place. NOT OPTIONAL.
Have a DETAILED onboarding questionnaire to get as MUCH info as possible. Review the coaching questionnaire BEFORE the call and take as many notes of clarifying questions you have, immediate things you note you could work on, questions they put that you can answer for them, etc.
Take notes during the call with tasks for you, them, and any logistical notes.
Send a recap email after the call with as much information from your notes as needed, including (if applicable) a task list of things you want them to focus on in what order, along with any links, resources, or notes you have for them with each.
Record each call if online (Zoom) so you can send a replay with your follow-up email.
Send them a feedback form or email after the call to get feedback and a review. We usually wait 2-4 weeks or so before sending so they have time to put in the work and see some results, but if earlier makes sense to send – do it right away!
