Amanda’s Story

Meet Amanda, a powerhouse of radically simple yet highly effective business strategies that intersect faith, family, and fierce entrepreneurship! She’s a devoted Christian, wife to her husband Nathan, and a mom of two littles.

Once a ballerina who traveled the world for her dancing, Amanda lept her way into the realm of high-level entrepreneurship, driven by an insatiable love for scaling businesses with God and family at the center.  After years of building her own businesses, Amanda noticed a gap between high-level business education and female Christian values, so she chose to bridge the divide and founded Pursuit – an online haven for high-performing Christian businesswomen. 

Amanda is on a crusade to empower women with the tools they need for seamless and joyful business scaling. Through her proven 6-pillar framework, membership, digital course, and The Pursuit Podcast, she’s creating a vibrant community where deeply-rooted faith and high-level leadership & business strategy coalesce.

 

The first step with balancing it all 

1. You need to stop listening to the world’s input on how you should be a good mom. Go to God’s word and scripture and prioritize Him first. If you have a relationship with Him, you can weather any storm. 
2. Voice-to-text is a game changer. You can do this while doing laundry, making breakfast, etc. Then when you go to sit down and do work, you’re not making all this stuff up right then and there. 
3. One place method, having everything of one specific area in your life in one place. All your financials are in one specific Google Drive folder—every single area in your life personal and business. Have one place where you put everything. 

 

Systems or processes 

Keep it simple. Use your “simple stick” over and over again. Don’t get overcomplicated with things. 

Amanda has a document linked in her Asana that is all her SOPs for everything in her business. Whenever something new comes up she adds it to that document so all her employees can refer there. 

Solopreneur: 

Even if you’re a solopreneur why wouldn’t you want to make your life easier? When the time comes that you do need help, wouldn’t it be amazing to have the keys to those ten tasks of the things you want them to take over? Write out and fill yourself doing things that are super simple because it will make your life better in the future. 

 

Faith and Business

1. Amanda remembers God telling her that she is going to bring her daughter alongside her as she continues to grow her business. It’s not an instead but a together. She didn’t want to lose her dream of her business but also raising her children. You can still do both and God gave her that peace and clarity. 
2. Batch batch batch and then batch even more and then batcha again. 

Advice or wisdom if you want to scale or grow a business

Practically really choose your business model statically. If you are an extrovert but create a business that is introverted you are going to feel pretty empty and sad and stressed. And that will lead to your motherhood as well. Truly analyze your business model and see if this brings you joy and is something that will work for your family and life.

What is the biggest lesson you have learned in business?

Business, clients, money, accomplishments– all those things will never ever give you true and lasting freedom and joy and fulfillment. Only Jesus can do those things. Once you have Jesus as your rock and true foundation all the other fun stuff becomes such a joy because they become this added thing and not your everything.
