Today we’re diving in on the five signs you are ready to go full-time with your entrepreneurship. When do you make it your full-time gig? It can be a questioning time, so we’re here for you today! We’re here to alleviate that fear. We’ll go through all of them and hopefully will help you decide if it’s time to dive right in or not yet.
1.You don’t have enough time or capacity for all the demand for you or your product
You have to either turn away bookings or sales or slow down on marketing them because you don’t have time with your other job. Or straight up you KNOW what to do to gain momentum in your business, even if you haven’t done it yet, but your current job is literally taking up all your time and you quite literally don’t have time to do the things that would gain you more success in your business
2. You have savings in place as a safety net (OR a backup plan just in case)
Savings are for some who NEED to know you’ll be okay if it takes a while. But maybe you need the PUSH that this HAS to work, and you know you have a backup plan (bartending for example!) if it doesn’t take off the way you expect. But the pressure makes you HUSTLE and you need that!
3. You’re willing to do whatever it takes and work your butt off if needed
Entrepreneurship is risky. Are you willing to stop betting on an employer who could always fire you at any given moment or are you ready to bet on yourself? Starting up your own business requires a moment of hustle and intense drive to get the ball rolling and momentum gaining. Are you ready to do that once you quit? Are you already doing that even before quitting your 9-5? Do you have the gumption, drive, energy, momentum, and passion to hit the ground running and run after what you want?
4. You have some of the first building blocks of your business in place at least
You have SOME marketing avenues already being pursued (word of mouth, social media, website, in-person networking/events, etc). You have access to the equipment needed to give you a good boost or start (Pottery wheel for ceramics. Good intermediate or pro cameras & lenses for photography. etc) – own, rent etc. Your legal side is set up and ready to handle full-time level.
- LLC or Sole Proprietorship in place
- Contracts
- Separate business bank account
5. Your 9-5 job is draining the life out of you and you just know it’s time…
In your gut, you just know (even if you’re terrified). You LOATHE your job and you’re ready to buck up and make a life change. This is more than just a simple “ugh I hate my job woe is me” – this is a soul-searching “I know I am not meant to do this for my life, and I feel in my gut I’m supposed to quit but I haven’t done it yet out of fear or anxiety”.
