We’re going to dig deep into what AI is, its pros and cons, the ethical and legal stuff surrounding it, and how it can seriously level up our businesses.
AI is everywhere these days, from Siri and Alexa to those algorithms that control our social media feeds. But what the heck is AI, and how does it actually work? We’ll break it down for you, bust some myths, and explain the impact this can have on entrepreneurship.
But, of course, AI isn’t all sunshine and rainbows. We’ll chat about the good and the not-so-good sides of AI. We’ll cover how it can make our lives easier, help us make faster decisions, and give customers amazing experiences. But we won’t shy away from discussing the dangers of how it’s a slippery slope into a morally gray world.
What is AI
Artificial intelligence is essentially computers that have been given tens of millions of data and resources. It has a mind of its own. You prompt it and it does more than just a setup automation. It guesses what you’d want based on the prompt you give it
Disclaimer: Legalities
Go listen to The Legal Paige podcast episode 154 to hear a great rundown of the legalities of artificial intelligence and things we need to be aware of. There are a lot of questions because it is so new. Nobody knows what’s going on or what’s going to happen until we have cases come in and have case laws created from them.
AI thoughts in general
Potentially dangerous technology in the wrong hands, but it also seems like it’s DEFINITELY here to stay.
Is AI along the lines of a man trying to be like God, and create human intelligence, fabricating what only GOD can create? If you’re a believer you have the CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE as an intimate friend. Don’t idolize man’s imitation of wisdom or creativity you get to ask God.
It’s also slippery to not use your brain and think for yourself.
Chat GPT
Amazing for helping prompt ideas when we get stuck in a mental rut. There’s legal stickiness here too. If you write some of your web copy via ChatGPT, etc it’s possible your copyright for your web copy wouldn’t hold up. Definitely helpful in writing rough outlines for IG captions, blog posts, etc. But again, we’re very cautious with it because of the legalities and copyright.
Photoshop Generative fill/AI
You can remove a telephone wire or a trash can from the background. But it also has the capability to add a mountain in the background where there is no mountain.
Adobe terms of use say we can’t use it for commercial purposes aka there’s a LOT of sticky or untouched legal ground with such new technology and legally we aren’t allowed to use that feature on client work yet.
Where does the slippery slope end? If you’re just taking the trashcan out in the background or you’re completely changing the integratory of the image?
Ethics: DO NOT JUST MAKE EVERYTHING FAKE OKAY
Will clients start asking for this as if it’s a casual normal thing?
How it can benefit our businesses
It allows us to be more efficient. Write captions, and blog posts, and respond to client inquiries automatically. Saves money by having AI do things that you maybe would have hired out before like copywriting, email copy, blog posts, captions, etc.
